Description
Welcome to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast.
In this session we study the insight pathways taught by the Buddha in the Avijjā Sutta (AN 10.61) and how to contemplate or meditate on them.
The first is the one that leads to the arising (samudaya) of Ignorance and the second is the passing away (atthaṅgama) or way out of Ignorance.
The session has been split into two parts:
In this first part we look at the arising of Ignorance and all the nutriments or conditions that lead to the arising and growth of Ignorance, which in turn keeps us bound to continual rebirth into samsara.
In the second part (to be published), we’ll look at the insight pathway for the way out of Ignorance, which leads to True Knowledge and Liberation.
What is covered in this session:
o Overview of the Avijjā Sutta (AN 10.61)
o What is avijjā?
o Importance of this teaching
o Quick recap on insight pathways
o “Deep dive” into the insight pathway for avijjā
o How do we meditate on this sutta
