Monday, December 12th will likely go down as a day of infamy for the University of Texas and their basketball program. It was on this date that Chris Beard was arrested on third degree felony domestic violence charges against his fiancee at their home. The University of Texas made the correct decision to suspend Beard without pay while they conduct a full investigation. Rodney Terry has been named the interim coach for the moment, but the details of the police report alleging what happened make it hard to envision a situation where Chris Beard ever coaches at The University of Texas again. Jason Jordan of Sports Illustrated joins me to discuss a very heavy topic, that not only shook the 40 acres but shook the basketball world as a whole. The second biggest story of the day was somehow Texas basketball playing a game in the midst of all this. It wasn't pretty by any means, with the Longhorns struggling to a Rice team that were 20 point underdogs but the Longhorns and Marcus Carr pulled out a tough overtime victory.
