Rivalries undoubtedly are what set college football apart from other sports. The passion that fans of all ages display on Saturdays for their favorite football teams and the traditions affiliated with each University make college football, and really just college athletics in general a special event. Tomorrow, one of the most special events in the sport takes place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, where Quinn Ewers and the Texas Longhorns face off against Dillon Gabriel and the Oklahoma Sooners. Steve Sarkisian faces off against Brent Venables. Bijan Robinson faces off against Eric Gray (That was disrespectful I know). In recent memory, this is a matchup that the Sooners have dominated winning nine out of the last twelve matchups. But this Texas team led by JT Sanders and Xavier Worthy are almost touchdown favorites against a wounded Oklahoma Sooner team with no real identity five games through the Brent Venables era. The loser of this game is likely out of contention for the Big 12 championship in 2022. This would make this game a must win by all accounts.
