Description
Inside today's Locked on Canadiens:
The Habs and Flames game had to be decided in a shootout after a wild, hard-fought game at the Bell Centre. Juraj Slafkovsky had a standout performance including a primary assist on Josh Anderson's game-tying goal. Nick Suzuki and Kirby Dach wowed in the shootout to earn both points for Montreal. Things weren't all perfect though as both hosts are getting frustrated with the power play struggles, including Monday's effort.
The Flames and Habs game was a wild one in a number of ways, but the biggest storyline at the end of it all was that star forward Cole Caufield was knocked out of the game after taking a big hit from Trevor Lewis. If he's out for anything length of time it's a massive issue for the Canadiens lineup and offence, so what can the team do to fill the void? The immediate answer might be sliding Juraj Slafkovsky up to that spot, but what about potential call up options from the AHL?
Team Canada announced their final roster for the upcoming World Juniors tournament, and in good news Joshua Roy has officially made the team for a second straight year! In the bad news Habs prospects Owen Beck and Riley Kidney were among the cuts and will head back to their respective junior teams. While Kidney suffered an injury in one of the pre-tournament exhibition games, neither Scott or Laura is a fan of Beck being among the cuts. They air their grievances and take a look at who was selected over Beck for this years team.
