Description

Set positive anchors
Who does not know them, the weak moments, the temptations of life, the voice of nature, the attacks with anger, hunger or depression.
It can help to set so-called "anchors" in order to hold on to them, similar to a ship that would also drift without a foothold. What have we not resolved to do, to be more mindful, to do more sports, to meditate daily, to lose weight, to be around people more, and then life keeps interfering, throwing us off track, taking us off course.
Sure, we are only human, where there are people, it becomes human. But we wanted more, to achieve something, not just to live dully from day to day.
According to Buddha, it is completely irrelevant whether we achieve something or not. But not the big group of "feel-good Buddhists", most of them are not sure yet if they want to awaken at all. Therefore, these people should first slowly approach the teachings of Buddha, e.g. by setting said anchors.
Anchors are positive supports for the subconscious, they remind us of the things we considered important, whether this is still the case when the anchor takes hold, that is a completely different matter.
An anchor is a memory set on purpose, something like this: When I arrive at the supermarket I first go to buy a paper towel. The anchor is set in the supermarket, the reminder is "kitchen roll". My cell phone (Apple) also offers such a kind of reminder, I can enter that it should remind me of the "kitchen roll" when I enter the supermarket. Of course, I have to enter the address for that as well.
But I mean a more intellectual reminder (anchor), something like this: When I get a craving for chips again, I see my body floating in front of me in my inner eye, in the actual state on the left, in the target state on the right.
Or exactly like this (left and right) I imagine how I will look tomorrow if I drink the bottle of wine now, I set the anchor for myself in case I think about alcohol.
Or when I get angry, I think of my "mindfulness anchor", or when I catch myself running through life listlessly, then I also think of the "mindfulness anchor".
When I get depressed then the "happiness anchor", which I link to something that makes me happy. And then, at a special time of the day, the "Sports Anchor." Do you understand what I'm trying to point out?
This is how we can link our subconscious to our conscious, practically building a kind of "mnemonic bridge" for us.
The way is (as always) the goal!
Quickly to the good! Keep your mind closed from evil! You already enjoy the evil, do the good you sullenly.
