With this new academic initiative, luminary SCAD graduate Quintin “Q” Williams returned to SCAD as one of the key sneaker design faculty members. Williams built his career in athletic shoes as the lead footwear designer for Power Force Apparel and Peak Sports USA. In 2016, Williams became the co-founder and chief global designer of Q4 Sports, the performance footwear company inspired by the mentality of the fourth quarter that puts athletes first. As Williams prepared to enter the classroom for his first quarter at SCAD, he sat with Paula Wallace to talk about his journey as an alum and all things sneakers.
