Description

Dr. Karin Anderson Abrell is a psychology professor turned self-help author who spent 27 years on the dating scene. She had her first boyfriend at 15, called off her first engagement at 34 and didn’t get married until she was 42. Karin first became interested in writing about dating and relationships when reflecting on her own engagement. Although she loved her fiancé, she wasn’t “in love”. Despite being perfect on paper, she realised marrying him would be settling so she called off the wedding just two months prior to when it was meant to take place. She wrote 'Single is the New Black: Don’t wear White ‘Til It’s Right' to empower singles, encouraging them to remain strong amidst “Single Shaming”, stay true to themselves and never settle for anything less than an extraordinary relationship.        To all my Modern Women: If ever you have questioned whether you’re in the right relationship, or stayed in the wrong relationship out of fear of ending up on your own or that you’re running out of time to start a family, then this is the episode for you!Together we discuss:

What it takes to survive and thrive in the dating trenches
Why being single is a strength not a flaw
How to identify the difference between the right and wrong relationship
Why having high standards results in high quality marriages
The benefits of being a bride and parent later in life
Why the fear of being alone will cause you to make soul crushing decisions
Egg freezing and navigating being a step-parent
Why you should not wear white until it's right

More than a podcast, a community of like-minded women who are determined to expose the truth and reality of being a Modern Woman. Hosted by dating expert Nicole Colantoni, each episode challenges norms and expectations when it comes to life, love, and relationships with special guests who aren't afraid to speak their minds. What started as your one-stop ‘how-to’ for women has now evolved into a sisterhood where no topic is taboo as they search for answers to the questions most people are too ashamed to ask. From whether or not freezing your eggs is a good insurance policy to how to own your timeline and free yourself from societal expectations, they explore and publicly air the uncomfortable and the unspoken. This is Single at Thirty — The Manual for the Modern Woman. So, are you in?
