Description

In this episode, The Bearded Mystic Podcast discusses the 5th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, specifically verses  20 - 24. Sri Krishna explains how the person that is established in the knowledge of Brahman becomes the same in quality as Brahman too. They are one and the same - therefore they never get over-excited or overly disappointed. Sri Krishna explains how eternal happiness is found in getting the mind united with Brahman. Arjuna is reminded that material pleasures have a finite existence and therefore, he must always discern so he doesn't get trapped in the cycle of seeking pleasure. Sri Krishna is telling us that we can achieve a steady state of happiness in this life itself and it can be practically done if we look into the causes of our desires and anger. Ecstasy and self-illumination become the way of the Sage. They are full of joy, brimming to the top with happiness. They understand they are one and the same in essence as Brahman, this Pure Awareness. Translation used: The Bhagavad Gita Comes Alive: A Radical Translation by Jeffrey Armstrong Available here on AmazonI hope you enjoyed listening to the 42nd episode of the Thoughts on The Bhagavad Gita and if you are interested in listening to more episodes like this on further chapters and verses, or on Non-Duality, or you want to learn more about the wisdom of the Mystics please follow/subscribe to this Podcast.Support The Bearded Mystic Podcast on Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/thebeardedmysticpodcastJoin The Bearded Mystic Podcast Discussion Group:  https://chat.whatsapp.com/GcCnyrjQwLuEPHBaVA6q9LBe notified of my weekly virtual meditation session followed by a Q&A Discussion via zoom (Notifications only):https://chat.whatsapp.com/DcdnuDMeRnW53E0seVp28bIf you would like a one-on-one meeting with me via Zoom, find the details here:https://calendly.com/thebeardedmysticpodcast/1on1meetingsJoin The Bearded Mystic Podcast Discussion Group:  https://chat.whatsapp.com/GcCnyrjQwLuEPHBaVA6q9LSubscribe to the free monthly The Bearded Mystic Newsletter: http://thebeardedmysticpodcast.substack.comPlease rate and write a review for this Podcast on https://www.thebeardedmysticpodcast.com/reviews/new/You can find links to Live Streams, Podcast, Videos etc: https://linktr.ee/thebeardedmysticpodcastYou can follow me and contact me on social media:Website: https://www.thebeardedmysticpodcast.comTikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMdk3HPJh/Discord: https://discord.gg/4DbureZw8yInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebeardedmysticpodcast/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheBeardedMysticPodcast/Twitter: https://twitter.com/bearded_mysticFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/The-Bearded-Mystic-PodcastSupport the show
