"Hauschka" is the solo project of German pianist, composer and producer Volker Bertelmann.Volker's approach to music is described as "Prepared Piano", a technique which sees him experiment with the piano by placing objects between the strings to create new and unique sounds. It is a technique which he discovered completely by accident, before he found that other pianists have been doing the same thing, going back as far as the 1940's, and that there was a name for it.Join Jay and Jesse as they discuss Volker's history and approach to music.
