Description
Kele Okereke had been working on his band for quite some time before landing on a dedicated 4 piece line-up. After a year and a half of road testing their songs at clubs and pubs across London, it was a chance meeting at a Franz Ferdinand gig that Kele was able to hand over a demo CD of his band's material to a couple of the Franz members, as well as influential British radio DJ Steve Lamacq. From there, radio play and single releases commenced. Finally "Bloc Party" launched onto the scene in 2005 with their debut album "Silent Alarm", a blistering, energy filled piece of genius. Since then they have not stopped touring and releasing new music, albeit with a number of line-up changes, and a brief hiatus.Join Jay and Jesse as they discuss the history and creatives approaches of London's "Bloc Party"."Roots to Grooves" is a production of SIGNL.https://www.signlradio.comhttps://www.instagram.com/signlradiohttps://www.twitter.com/signlradiohttps://www.facebook.com/signlradiohttps://www.mixcloud.com/signlhttps://open.spotify.com/user/96mhz6qfjoztxbl2dpm0uj903?si=aAZpsoEnRAKdx85kr1QWhg
