"UNKLE" is a British musical outfit founded in 1992 by James Lavelle.James was the founder of iconic UK record label "MoWax". A label known for championing underground hip-hop in the 90's and bringing artists like DJ Shadow to prominence in the UK. The "UNKLE" was project was something James had been trying to work on for over a decade before he decided to ask Shadow for help in producing the material. What resulted was the cult classic "Psyence Fiction" which dropped in 1998.Since those early days, "MoWax" as a functioning label is no longer, and DJ Shadow has moved on to his own illustrious career.
