The Edmonton Oilers rattled off a pair of massive wins to close out their series against the Los Angeles Kings, and I figured now would be the perfect time to record a fresh podcast to talk about what comes next. After wrapping up their series with the Kings in seven games, the Edmonton Oilers will square off against the Calgary Flames for the first time in the postseason since 1991. I don't know about you fine folks that are reading but I was too young to really remember much or even be aware of what was going on in '91, and that makes this the first playoff Battle of Alberta that I've ever truly experienced. Not only am I excited and nervous at the same time, but it's almost painful that we have to wait basically two more days before the puck finally drops. That said, maybe having a little bit of a break is exactly what we need right now as a bunch of the Oilers are playing through injuries, most notably Leon Draisaitl who reportedly played through a painful high ankle sprain in Game 7. Will he be ready to go on Wednesday? Now that I'm thinking about it, I just started to get angry that Mikey Anderson was able to slew foot/take Leon down with a greasy play that the league didn't seem to think was a big deal.
