Can you believe we’re not even a month into the NHL’s work stoppage despite this past few weeks feeling like a decade or more? Even so, we got the boys back together for a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to talk a little bit about the NHL, break down Anton Slepyshev's decision to stay in Russia, come up with a few hypothetical scenarios, and help us all kill an hour of our day. To kick off this week’s podcast, we started in with a look the scary situation involving Edmonton Oilers forward, Colby Cave, having to be placed in a medically-induced coma to combat a brain bleed. At this point, the only update we've received is that he made it through surgery to remove a colloid cyst but remains in the coma to ease the pressure on his brain. From there, we moved onto Anton Slepyshev's decision to remain in Russia for the next couple of years rather than coming back to Edmonton for a second tour of duty. Is this a big loss for the Oilers? Should we care that he didn't want to come back? Next up, we broke down some of Connor McDavid's quotes from yesterday's conference call, including his statement that he wouldn't have gone into the Sportsnet studio for the draft lottery again if he had the chance to redo it. Getting into the weirder side, I hit the boys with a tough hypothetical scenario: If you had to hand the reigns back over to any of the last four Edmonton Oilers GMs (Tambellini, MacT, Chiarelli, Keith Gretzky), who would it be?
