Description

Today we speak about COVID-19.  We talk about some of the facts that we know of now, some of the precautions we can all take, and some of the measures that are being taken worldwide.  We discuss the domino effect of the national emergency, our similar experiences with the hurricanes in Florida, and some great ideas and resources for not only homeschooling families but those that have been thrust into the homeschooling world.  We know that this is a very serious and stressful situation for many but we also want to make sure that people are keeping level heads and keeping their humanity.  Panicking and altering the way that we treat people is not the answer.  Lets all get through this together and maybe, just maybe, some great things will come from this.  Families being together and realizing how precious this time together is and also how fragile the world as we know it really is.  Have a great week and enjoy your family.  Helpful Links BelowThis Video is a reminder of how powerful community is - https://youtu.be/Q734VN0N7hwWorld Health Organization: https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronavirusesCDC:https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-in-us.htmlDiscovery Education:https://www.discoveryeducation.com/Museum virtual tours: https://upgradedpoints.com/best-virtual-museum-tours/Art:https://www.chalkpastel.com/https://www.deepspacesparkle.com/Science Fun:https://www.science-sparks.com/https://mysteryscience.com/school-closure-planninghttps://www.raddishkids.com/pages/suddenlyhomeschoolinghttps://www.khanacademy.org/https://www.historyforkids.net/https://www.nationalgeographic.com/Bravewriter:https://bravewriter.com/about/homeboundScholastic:https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome.htmlBlogs/articles:https://www.freep.com/story/opinion/columnists/nancy-kaffer/2020/03/13/coronavirus-school-closure-michigan-homeschool-whitmer/5039979002/https://countingcures.com/2020/03/14/welcome-home-school/https://www.vox.com/the-highlight/2020/3/13/21178234/coronavirus-covid-19-school-closures-kids-home
