Description

In this hour we'll hear a couple of beautiful tributes to beloved grandparents, plus an all-new audio drama we've cooked up in our secret lab.

(3:43) A introductory conversation with Detroit storyteller Robert B. Jones about his experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, and about some of the meaning that got made in his life during a difficult time.
(5:05) Robert B. Jones honors his grandmother through sharing her story, and because it’s Reverend Jones, you can bet that at least part of the story will be told through the blues. The story's called "Song for Arnecia," and it was recorded live in the Apple Seed Studio.
(24:17) Host Sam Payne shares a memories about his bookworm grandpa, and then plays and sings a song he composed for his funeral called "The Book You Sent Today."
(35:25) An original audio drama called "We Will Fight in the Quad" about a high school teenager with some bully trouble, who gets help in an unexpected way—from a magical visit from legendary World War II-era British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
