Description

Welcome to episode 23 of the Lovecars On The Grid podcast! Our hosts Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman are back to bring us another round up of motorsport events from the past week!
We've had an interesting weekend from MotoGP, Formula E, Indycar and NASCAR! But we kick off with what is possibly one of the most insane road races in the World! The Isle of Man TT is currently taking place, with average speeds of over 130MPH!
In WRC, we had very dusty roads in Sardinia, even after the road sweepers had been through! With 3 minute intervals between cars, it made for a tough rally, with a great weekend for Hyundai and a win for Ott Tanak.
Moto GP riders were out in Barcelona, as Fabio Quartararo takes another win and begins to run away with the Championship. Will he win? In Moto2, British rider Jake Dixon qualified in 4th place, with Sam Lowe, our other British rider crashing out and retiring from the race. The win in Moto2 went to Celestino Vietti after a last lap battle with Aron Canet.
In Moto3, our highest British finisher was JohnMcPhee in 7th place, but just half a second separated the top 7 riders! The win went to Spanish rider, Izan Guevara.
Formula E were racing their electric cars in Jakarta. Mitch Evans took the win in his Jaguar. For the British drivers, Jake Dennis was the highest finisher in 6th place.
Over in the US, the IMSA racing cars were in Belle Isle, a really tight race track! Sebastien Bourdais won with Cadillac, with British drivers Ollie Jarvis and Tom Blanc in 2nd place.
Staying in Detroit, the Indycar was on Sunday at the same track. With lots of overtaking, the race win went to Will Power, having qualified from 16th, followed closely by Alexander Rossi.
NASCAR was an entertaining race once again, with several incidents and yellow flags. Kyle Busch was arguably robbed of the win, following a safety car with 2 laps to go. This bunched the cars up, allowing Joey Logano to overtake and win the race. In other news, Kimi Raikkonen is going to appear in NASCAR in New York in August!
BBC Top Gear was back last night also, with some old school USA banger racing. What did you think of the episode? Let us know in the comments!
We also had Le Mans test weekend, and GT cars at Paul Ricard Circuit!
Next week, we of course have LeMans approaching. F1 returns at Azerbaijan, with F2 supporting. Indycar are at Road America, arguably the best road course on the calendar! World Superbikes are at Lugano.
