We talk about the offensive struggles of the Guardians. I explain that while many people focus on power it is the lack of walks that stand out for me. The Guardians would not get their first walk until the ninth inning of today's game. I also dig into the Amed Rosario of it all as he continues to regress to mean and hit in double plays. I explain why not trading him was still the right call for the Guardians and why there was a reason to think he might have found another gear before his play in the second half resulted in Amed being well, Amed. We join the game in the 7th inning just in time to see Josh Naylor giveth and taketh away. We also talk about how good the Kansas City Tv Broadcast is and all the things I learned in half a game from them.

Next, we focus on the game as the Guardians performance in this game. The offense has been productive but has not led to a large lead or a high number of runs in spite of a large number of hits. We talk about where the Guardians stack up against the other playoff-bound squads in multiple statistical areas and try to explain why an offense that by most metrics is middle of the pack can all of a sudden be one of the worst in baseball for multiple weeks.

We take some time to shout out Petey Halpin, one of the ascending talents in the Guardians system. We get nervous about the idea of Eli Morgan pitching the ninth and struggle with Amed Rosario being up to hit in one of the most important moments in the game. While the game might not be over I still give my three stars and in what is a surprise for us all based on his play this year Myles Straw makes the cut tonight.
