When it rains it pours. Not only did Texas suffer an emotional loss against Alabama but they also suffered another emotional loss. Their starting quarterback, Quinn Ewers is scheduled to be out four to six weeks with a "clavicle sprain" and Hudson Card is dealing with a high ankle sprain that makes not having your top two quarterbacks against UTSA a real possibility and maybe even longer than that. Not to mention D'shawn Jamison and Bijan Robinson are also dealing with injuries suffered in the Alabama game. We know that Sark has said on multiple occasions that their goal this year is to play on Dec. 3rd in Arlington for the Big 12 championship game. To do that, this team is going to have to respond to adversity and continue to keep this team afloat without Quinn Ewers. Players like Xavier Worthy, Bijan Robinson and Jordan Whittington are going to have to carry this football team on offense. Kelvin Banks and Christian Jones are going to have to continue to dominate on the offensive line. The defense is going to have to continue to fly to the ball in ways that we have seen them do against Louisiana Monroe and Alabama thus far. Players like Demarvion Overshown, Barryn Sorrell, and Keondre Coburn have flashed thus far. Can they continue to dominate on that side of the ball until Quinn Ewers comes back and this football team can be carried by this offense again. Texas is clearly the most talented team in the Big 12. Although the Big 12 is going to be tough, with a healthy Quinn Ewers, there is no reason this Longhorn football team should not be in the Big 12 championship game in December. Can Sark steady the ship with Hudson Card or Charles Wright at QB? Can the offensive skill positions still dominate without a bonafide NFL talent at the helm?
