Description
Adnan's father Ibrahim lived in Saudi Arabia, where desertification is rampant. A solution was needed to help plants grow with less water, less often. To that end, he developed a polymer (a chemical compound made of repeating components) that holds 115 x it's own weight in water. There are other polymers that can hold a lot of water but most of them are sodium based and can be harmful to the soil if it’s already salinated. Their polymer, called SolidWater, is biodegradable. It breaks down into things plants can use as food- Potassium, Nitrogen, CO2, and Water. Now Adnan and Sebastiaan are working tirelessly to make Ibrahim's dream a reality.
