Description

We talk a lot on this show about how to feed, train, and rehab our largest organ, our muscles. There are countless ways that people can exercise, but all of them will fall short of providing the benefits that come from a workout regimen based on strength training. To drive this point home, I’ve brought in an old friend and a real expert in this field.
I’ve known Dr. Tyna Moore since we went to chiropractor school together. In addition to being a chiropractor, she’s a naturopath who focuses on the application of natural pain solutions and regenerative injection therapies to treat all varieties of musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Tyna has spoken at numerous conferences all over the country as well as offering several online programs to the public.
In our talk today, Dr. Tyna and I discuss the importance of strength training and why it can’t be ignored, especially as we get older. There are many different types of workouts, but it really is proper strength training that will keep us healthy and strong throughout life. Dr. Tyna also discuses her specialty of regenerative injection therapies to help people rehab, including when they’re helpful and when they’re not.
How has strength training made improvements to your overall health? Let me know in the comments on the episode page!

“Strength training makes you take better care of yourself because you can’t get any gains if you don’t do it.” [12:12]
“I think a lot of muscular-skeletal pain that we’re all seeing is potentially a thyroid issue.” [34:21]
“I want to be handy to my fellow humans. If you’re weak and sick and deconditioned, you are a huge load on the system. Think about the impact and the financial and the emotional burden that we are all having on society if we don’t keep ourselves well and strong.” [38:24]
