Description

In the part two of the US Open recap, Vansh and I are joined by Mert Ertunga, former tennis player, coach, and now writing for Tennis with an Accent (a lovely accent, by the way.) This part was dedicated to the most bizarre final a lot of us fans have seen in a Grand Slam probably ever. Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev delivered great tennis and absolutely tense tennis within the same point at times. And it was great. There's just too much to unpack in this match, but bottom line is: Dominic Thiem is finally a Grand Slam champion after heartbreaking finals against Nadal and Djokovic, in one of the most entertaining matches of this century. But not because of tennis quality.Follow Mert:Twitter @MertovsTDeskTennis With An Accent: https://tennisaccent.com/Follow Tennis and Bagels:Twitter @tennis_bagels (managed by Andre)Vansh on Twitter @vanshv2kInstagram @tennisandbagelsFacebook/tennisandbagelsThank you for listening to this podcast!--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tennis-and-bagels/messageSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/tennis-and-bagels. The Tennis and Bagels Podcast aims to capture the best parts of tennis, from tactics to touching moments and many things in between. Andre Rolemberg started the show in 2019 and added Vansh Vermani — a dynamo in all things tennis statistic related — and Owen Lewis, a blogger, to the team. As the legendary Big Three head into the twilight of their careers and the WTA approaches a gleaming Golden Age with its plethora of young talent, change is afoot in the tennis world. Andre, Vansh, and Owen do their best to make sense of it through match recaps, often bad predictions, and general wondering.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/tennis-and-bagels.
