Description

In this episode we talk about the ATP Nitto Finals as it ends its time in London, now to be held in Turin starting 2021. Danill Medvedev was the winner, not losing any matches this time in contrast with last season, when he lost every single one. On his way, he beat Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Dominic Thiem, world's number 1, 2, and 3 respectively. Thiem also beat both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal en route to the final. His matches against the world's top 2 players and GOAT candidates were arguably the best ones of the tournament. The future of these players is interesting: where we would normally have gotten a Djokovic vs Nadal final, we got a Medvedev vs Thiem, as both of them beat the Big 3 members in the semis. What will happen in the next slams? Do these results mean something or are they just hiccoughs? Plus, we have a great announcement in this episode! The Tennis and Bagels Podcast aims to capture the best parts of tennis, from tactics to touching moments and many things in between. Andre Rolemberg started the show in 2019 and added Vansh Vermani — a dynamo in all things tennis statistic related — and Owen Lewis, a blogger, to the team. As the legendary Big Three head into the twilight of their careers and the WTA approaches a gleaming Golden Age with its plethora of young talent, change is afoot in the tennis world. Andre, Vansh, and Owen do their best to make sense of it through match recaps, often bad predictions, and general wondering.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/tennis-and-bagels.
