Description
*Warning: explicit and triggering content*Domestic violence and intimate partner violence can be a well-kept secret. This was the case for special guest Janet Kaiser, whom I met at a valentine brunch in 2022 (called Galentines). As Janet shared her raw and unedited version of her decade or so of abuse from her husband, the room was on their feet to honor the bravery in her story. Not only did she share the frightening details of her abuse, she is now helping others to recognize it, receive help and thrive. Janet's motto is "When you know better, you do better" and she is walking the talk. Hear how Janet says she can spot an abuser in a crowd, how she got out of the horrible marriage, and get some advice on early red flags that should never be ignored. If you are suffering in silence, reach out to the Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233. Janet offers to talk with anyone who would like a one-on-one private chat: janet@simonsons.net
