Description
The e-commerce landscape in emerging Asia is extremely dynamic. The young, tech-savvy population, growing disposable income and wider internet connectivity make the region extremely attractive for any online retail business. The tech start-up scene has undergone many changes in the region, helped by a burgeoning entrepreneurial spirit and the availability of venture capital. In some markets, local online retailers dominate and global players such as Amazon and eBay have made little headway. Despite these advances, local players still face some key challenges, including online shopping being a largely urban phenomenon and a disparity in mobile internet penetration.
