Description
This toothy piscivore is found throughout Alaska (even in southcentral Alaska where they’ve been introduced illegally). They’re an important subsistence fish for Alaska Native Peoples and rural residents and a popular sport fish. Their jam is ambush hunting. They lie in wait for prey and then explode from the weeds or from behind a toppled tree or a submerged log.
