This piece of news is strictly in the RUMOR category, but thought it was possibly exciting enough to at least mention on the show. There is a rumor, posted over at Disneyland News Today, that Main Street, USA is planning to open sometime in mid-March. This would be approximately a year since the park closed to guests on March 14th last year. If this is true, Main Street should be open to guests just like Buena Vista Street is currently. No word on how close guests will be able to get to Sleeping Beauty Castle, or what will be open. With the closing of the resort last year, the Food and Wine Festival that was in progress never got to run it’s course. A new, limited ticketed event will allow Disneyland favorites from around the entire resort to be enjoyed once again. The rest of Disney California Adventure, minus all the attractions, will be accessible during this event, starting in mid-March. This event is also expected to bring 1,000 cast members back to work. The theming of the new Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney has been coming along with some new props. On the building itself, camouflage netting, communications dishes, and wiring have been added. In front of the new location, Rey’s speeder from Jakuu has been installed as a photo op. Exterior lighting has been in testing for Avenger’s Campus this week. The new lighting for the area can be seen by those guests who are inside Buena Vista Street after dark. The front of the Spider-Man attraction is lit up in blue, with the red section sporting a lit up WEB logo in white.
