Description

*English Episode*
In this episode of Voices of a Highway, our Executive Director Lily Pabian sits down with Van Galasso, local Asian-American artist and community member. Van Galasso is a familiar and beloved name for us at We Love Buford Highway since she has helped us with her art for many of our programs (We Are BuHi Gallery and Taste of BuHi Contest). In this episode she talks about generational trauma, about her parents' journey from Vietnam to the United States in the 80s, about being a 1st generation Asian-American, about her art and her love of Zumba classes!
Most importantly, Van Galasso speaks about her experience as an Asian American artist and sheds light on some of the stories and issues that have shaped her ideas around heritage, generational trauma, and the future of AAPI solidarity in Atlanta. We are so happy and proud to share her voice with you and we hope you do the same!
