Description

Episode 47 with Ellie Hopley
"We have to go above and beyond just to do the simplest task, and I feel like people just don’t understand that."
Ellie is the artist and mastermind behind the successful print and merchandise company Shuturp.
Ellie & I talk all about her previous diagnoses of generalized anxiety disorder and borderline personality disorder before she was eventually diagnosed with ADHD — and how it felt like everything in her life finally made sense!
We also talk about task paralysis and how so many of us carry around the weight of internalized negative beliefs about our behaviors — like being convinced we’re lazy, or stupid, or terrible friends, etc — and the effects it can have on our self esteem and our relationships with others.
And we also talk about the fun sides of ADHD — the creativity, the childlike wonder, the energy — and how a diagnosis has helped her recognize and embrace the positive sides.
