Description
Episode 26 with Rachel Morgan-Trimmer
"We are used to being told 'No.' Especially women with ADHD; we're invalidated all the time."
Rachel is a neurodiversity consultant, entrepreneur of 16 years, and self-described “weirdo.” She helps companies recruit, retain and develop neurodiverse staff through a unique program of workshops and coaching. She’s autistic and has ADHD, and says that she has had an impressive array of mental health conditions, which gives her an insight and understanding of people who are “not normal”.
Rachel founded SparkleClass to help Manchester’s tech community harness the talents of neurodiverse individuals. She lives in the UK with her family and says she is passionate about accessibility, obsessed with food, and can often be found up a hill.
I loved chatting with Rachel about the intersection of ADHD and autism in adult women, especially in perimenopause, as well as whether or not it’s necessary to get a medical diagnosis when it comes to ADHD or autism. We also talk a bit about chronic volunteerism, and the stress of motherhood in ADHD, as well as some great tips for self-care, so you might want to grab a pen and paper for this episode.
