Description
Welcome to The Auburn Podcast, your daily Auburn sports podcast presented by Auburn Undercover and hosted by Zac Blackerby.
On the show Thursday, Blackerby is joined by Dan Peck of ESPN 106.7. The guys talk about Auburn basketball’s latest addition as well as the opening game against Xavier in the Maui Invitational. The tail end of the podcast features a conversation about Auburn football’s big men. Peck shares a scoop that an anonymous player shared with him that could shake up the offensive line.
Use the following time marks to navigate the podcast:
Start of the show: Blackerby and Peck jump into some Auburn basketball recruiting talk. With the Tigers adding Isaac Okoro, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound wing, he became the second member of Auburn's 2019 recruiting class. Interestingly enough, he joins McEachern High teammate, Babatunde Akingbola. This is a big get for the Tigers and could show that adding these payers could become the new normal for Auburn basketball.
10-minute mark: The hosts discuss the opening game of the Maui Invitational and what it could mean for the program.
14-minute mark: Even though Auburn defensive lineman Derrick Brown continues to roll in preseason accolades as part of several award watch lists, Blackerby still makes the case that Brown is not getting enough credit from national media.
18-minute mark: The conversation shifts to the offensive line and how the group should be totally different in 2018 and even though the big men will be more unproven, it may be a good thing because the versatility and the accumulation of talented guys did not translate on the field until later in the season.
19-minute mark: Peck shares the scoop from the anonymous player about who else is getting reps at center.
End of the show: The guys wrap up the podcast by talking about Austin Troxell’s chances at right tackle and ask the question about how safe Prince Tega’s job security is at starting left tackle.
