Description

Kia Ora Whanau. We are BACK and we are RUSTY, and Sarah Douglas is awesome … so it all washes out. Sarah has been involved with DCR from the jump, designing our logo prior to our first episode. Sarah grew up in Christchurch, fell in love with the structure and competition of running and moved to the USA on a collegiate scholarship. Returning to Aotearoa with a Degree in Fine Arts and her love of trail running firmly in place thanks to spending time in Colorado.  Sarah has run for New Zealand at the World Mountain Running championships, came third in the 5000m at the national champs in 2020 and has absolutely dominated The Luxmore Grunt at Kepler the last few years, culminating in a 5th place overall finish at last year's event. With possibly the sweetest snoring dog ever in her lap, Sarah talks about the challenges of dealing with ongoing injury, her love of mountain running and we take a deep dive on some tips for running efficiently uphill. We crack back in with a preview of the hot season of racing ahead. It’s super good to be back.  Enjoy.
