People generally are talking bad about others because of THEIR unresolved issues, it's rarely about you!
Bullies in general are terrible.
Work bullies feel worse because we spend so much time at work.
Tips:

Ask 'what makes you say that / feel that way / think that way'?

Ask if there is anything you can answer for them

Call the person out / call them in

Why did you do X?

When it makes sense, explain your reasons for taking a particular action

Put boundaries in place

Take note

Talk to your leader

Consult with HR

Seek support, someone you can talk to

Track your wins
