Jim Watkins, Del Mar resident of 44 years and former owner of the L'Auberge Del Mar, delves into the history of the village. Bing Crosby built the race track and then brought all of his friends to the ‘party.’  Experiencing the L'Auberge during it's intitial glamour inspired him to rebuild the property and carry on its traditions and legacy. He wanted to create a home away from home for those visiting Del Mar and the historic hotel.
