Description
Michael Miller (of Cache and Release) joins The Bad Cop and DarrylW4 for the two hundred second edition of the GeoGearHeads. The conversation started with the "Lock Those Trackables" post by scrapcat. Anteaus and Thavia wrote in about the GIFF Events. Darryl shared the results of voting from the event he attended. Michael shared the news about two new souvenirs coming up. excaliburrd asked about loading a GPSR from a mobile device. We pointed back to "GGH 109: GPSR Loads" and Darryl mentioned that he was told the GPSMap 64s allows transfer of a GPX through the BlueTooth transfer but hasn't been able to test it. Jim52 recommends the OziExplorer program. The article "Fitbit trackers can be hacked in '10 seconds'" caught Darryl's attention and Brad shared that he likes Matchup.io for its community. Thavia submitted the "Seattle's Famous 'Gum Wall' Is Getting Scraped Clean" article which affects a famous geocache (check the coverage in "Caching In The Northwest 119: LISTENER FEEDBACK" and "Podcacher Show 533.0: Interview with Jeremy Irish"). "Why Every GPS Overestimates Distance Traveled" submitted by brilang had the panel talking. Russell Atkinson (from GGH193) shared that "Cached Out" was now available on Audible. Congratulations to scrapcat for submitting the winning response for this week's question and to yellowjeeperman for winning the live drawing. Thanks to Project-GC for their donation of this week's gift! The live video session from this Google+ Hangout On Air can be found on YouTube.
