Watercolors are a fantastic medium to pick up at any age because they are so versatile, portable, and accessible. In fact, I rediscovered my path to art by picking up a set of watercolor paints at a clothing department store! It was an impulse purchase, during a very stressful time of my life, that led me to fall in love with this medium. And I am excited to share with you everything I know as you begin this wonderful journey of watercolors. Here are a few basic things you should know about watercolors:

Just add water:You simply add water to activate the paints.

Portable:Just pack and access them when you want to create on the go or you have a limited living space.

Less mess:It’s easy to clean up and the mess is minimal, unlike other art media

Inspiring:It’s great for creative exploration. Even artists who specialize in other media, use watercolors to experiment.

Joyful:It’s the ultimate mood booster because you can open up a palette and see a rainbow of colors!

We’ll dive into recommended watercolor supplies next. If you’d like to know my favorite brands
