Capítulo 1. Nuevo Amigo / New Friend
María salió de su casa, emocionada y un poco nerviosa. Era el lunes y el primer día de su último año en la secundaria. Mientras caminaba hacia la escuela, notó a un chico nuevo parado cerca. Tenía el pelo oscuro y unos ojos que sonreían. Decidida a ser amable, le dijo, ¡Hola! Buenos días.
El chico le devolvió la sonrisa y con una voz tranquila, dijo, Hola. Soy Javier. Es mi primer día aquí, acabo de mudarme a Zaragoza hace unos días.
María sintió curiosidad por el nuevo estudiante. Mucho gusto, Javier. Soy María,
le respondió. ¿Qué te parece nuestro barrio?
Javier observó los alrededores con una mirada de satisfacción. Me gusta mucho. Es tranquilo y parece que la gente es muy amable aquí.
Es un buen lugar para vivir,
dijo María asintiendo. Entonces, ¿de dónde vienes?
De Valencia. Es una ciudad más grande, pero este lugar tiene su encanto, me gusta la tranquilidad,
contestó Javier.
María, queriendo ser una buena vecina, sonrió. Espero que te sientas como en casa. Si necesitas ayuda con algo, aquí estoy.
Gracias, María. Eso es muy amable de tu parte,
dijo Javier, agradeciendo con una inclinación de cabeza.
Caminando juntos hacia la escuela, empezaron a compartir cosas sobre sus vidas. María contó sobre la orilla del río Ebro, donde a veces iba a leer o simplemente a pasar el rato, disfrutando del sonido del agua y la vista de los pájaros volando. Javier, por su parte, mencionó que le gustaba mucho dibujar y estaba buscando lugares tranquilos donde poder inspirarse.
En Zaragoza, hay muchos rincones que seguro te encantarían para dibujar,
dijo María, pensativa. Aparte del parque y la orilla del río, tenemos la plaza del Pilar, que siempre está llena de vida y color. Y si buscas algo más tranquilo, el Jardín Botánico es perfecto para perderse entre las plantas y encontrar inspiración.
Javier se iluminó con la idea. Me encantaría visitar esos lugares. ¿Tal vez podrías mostrarme algunos después de la escuela?
propuso con una sonrisa.
Claro que sí. Será divertido,
respondió María, emocionada por la idea de compartir sus lugares favoritos de Zaragoza con alguien nuevo.
Ya en la puerta de la escuela, María se giró hacia Javier, Espero que tengas un buen primer día, Javier. Nos vemos en el recreo, ¿Sí?
Javier asintió. Claro, ¡gracias María! Hasta luego.
Pero cuando terminaron las clases, Javier no estaba en ninguna parte. María lo buscó por todo el colegio, preguntando a algunos compañeros, pero nadie sabía quién era Javier. Confundida y un poco triste, decidió caminar hacia el río, donde habían planeado ir juntos. Pensó que quizás podría encontrar a Javier buscando inspiración para dibujar allí.
Justo cuando doblaba la esquina cerca del río, vio a Javier saliendo de un pequeño comercio. María sintió un gran alivio. Javier se disculpó profusamente; no se había dado cuenta de cuánto tiempo había pasado dentro de la tienda.
Lo siento mucho, María. Perdí la noción del tiempo buscando algunos materiales de dibujo,
dijo Javier con una mirada de disculpa.
María sonrió, aliviada de encontrarlo. Está bien, Javier. Me alegra verte. ¿Todavía quieres ir al río?
preguntó.
Por supuesto,
Javier respondió con entusiasmo.
Entonces, caminaron juntos hacia el río Ebro, disfrutando de la tarde que parecía ser muy bonita.
