Alex shoved his hands into his hair, which was all puffed up from him doing that very same thing all morning long. Things weren’t going well, and he was at his wit’s end. He’d crunched the numbers ten times and he’d not made a math error. He was screwed. He was going to lose his biggest money-making client because of an idiotic mix-up. His divorce had him in dumb brain mode and this was one of the dumbest things he’d done since Maggie served him his papers. Well, actually, maybe the stupidest ever in his life.

He stared at his coffee, considering drinking it, but his stomach was churning, and he knew he’d likely vomit it back up. He stared out the window at John, who was mowing the lawn. The firm was just one of John’s clients. Alex and John had become friends over the years, and although John made less money, he was his own boss and, overall seemed much happier than Alex. He normally went out to chat with John, but today he was feeling so low that he literally couldn’t move. He was hoping for a magic bullet to strike his brain to save him, so he didn’t have to tell his best client how much of his money had poofed away overnight. Poof. Gone. Just like that. Like a fart in the wind.

That made Alex smile. He chuckled like a kid as Macy poked her head into his office.

Mr. Crenshaw, is now a good time to clean your office? she asked sweetly, her pretty face framing her twinkly eyes.

Seeing Macy always cheered Alex up. She was uber sexy, with curvy hips, a nice juicy ass, and boobs that looked to be at least C cups, if not D.
