About this ebook

Samantha takes a position as James's personal assistant and things seem to be going smoothly until she manages to convince James she is madly in love with him. She's so much younger than he is, and hits on his daughter Melanie, who is convinced Samantha is only after her father's fortune.

Fracturing his happy family does not affect Samantha at all, so Melanie takes it upon herself to find something incriminating about her. After snooping in Samantha's old room, she discovers a journal from Samantha's younger days that doesn’t paint the picture of innocence she wants to portray ...

    The Bitch Got Her Way

    By Eva Hore

My father and his trophy wife, Samantha, were moving into a new penthouse suite. He gave Samantha everything she wanted, even giving up the very place he loved since the day he’d purchased it. The family home, the estate all his children grew up on. My dad is very wealthy and up until Samantha came on the scene, I thought my parents were happily married; that they would last forever.

    How wrong I was.

Originally, Samantha was hired as his personal assistant, and as my father enjoyed working from home, she was required to move in with us. She was awarded a bedroom, private en-suite, and small entertaining area for her own personal use.

The same deal I had. I acted as my mother, Audrey’s, personal assistant. I would organize functions at our home, accompany her to charity events, and wherever she went, so did I.

The property was in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria, and our stately home and the stunning woodland gardens made it a joy to live at. It featured sweeping lawns bordered by scores of rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias, and rated as one of the great private gardens in Australia. Once a year, it was opened to the public…but that was then and this is now.

    Back to Samantha.

We’d all loved Samantha at the beginning, she was like the little sister I never had.

I have three brothers, all of whom lived in other states of Australia, so they welcomed Samantha’s companionship and her easy-going nature. They treated her like they did me, so I thought I had someone as close to a sister as I would ever get. We got on famously.

    How naïve of me.

My mother loved having Samantha around. The house was full of laughter, as she had an infectious giggle that had everyone relax in her company. She was totally at ease with herself, not at all self-conscious, and fit into the family unit quickly. As my father’s personal assistant, she was perfect. No matter what time of day he needed her, she was always ready and eager to work.

Dark haired with blue eyes, Samantha was striking. She was tall, long legged, athletic, yet totally feminine. She was fit, able to spend the day doing whatever was needed of her, and when she had time, she adored taking one of the mares, Bonnie, out for a gallop. There was no fear in her, just the excitement of being alive.

My father had given her a beeper so she could do as she pleased until he was ready for work. At times she wasn’t needed for work, and at other times they would hole up in his office for hours on end. She never complained, and Dad was happier and more productive than
