Prologue
In a realm characterized by liberty and unobstructed horizons, resided a lofty recluse known as Mr. Snodgers, together with his kin. He possessed a height of over seven feet, well-defined muscles, spiked hair that was short and a mix of salt and pepper, and eyes that were like those of a demon.
Mr. Snodgers was renowned in the surrounding communities for his isolation from society, however few were aware of the sorrowful narrative that compelled him to adopt a reclusive lifestyle.
In 1715, Mr. Snodgers entered matrimony with a stunning woman who captivated his affections. Unfortunately, their joy was fleeting as his spouse succumbed to a regional ailment and died.
Overwhelmed by the profound grief caused by the death of his cherished partner, Mr. Snodgers made a solemn commitment to abstain from experiencing love in the future. To safeguard his future wife from a comparable destiny, he securely locked both his house and dungeon.
In 1972, Mr. Snodgers encountered a woman who possessed a higher level of physical appeal compared to his initial spouse. They developed a profound affection for each other and entered the institution of marriage. On a significant evening, Mr. Snodgers made the distressing revelation that his wife was engaged in an extramarital relationship with another gentleman.
The hermit was enraged and made the couple leave. Subsequently, every year on the commemoration of his spouse's demise, Mr. Snodgers brings a bunch of ebony roses to her burial site. He is content with the occasion but regrets the day he fell in love with the woman.
The birth of a newborn girl from their marriage in 1973 was the sole source of comfort for him. Octavia, Mr. Snodgers' daughter, was called after his second great grandmother, who happened to be a princess of Romania.
Octavia and her offspring grew older as time passed, but Mr. Snodgers was never able to fully embrace the role of a true father to her. However, he decided to place her in the care of a more cultured couple. Octavia's demeanor precluded the potential for a paternal filial bond.
She exhibited a remarkable similarity to her mother yet possessed the astuteness and shrewd strategies of Mr. Snodgers. Octavia acquired knowledge in the field of herbal mixes and military strategies for upcoming conflicts every year following her birth.
Mr. Snodgers desired to guarantee that his daughter was well equipped to face any obstacles that could arise. He saw a reflection of his loving wife in her and was pleased with her knowledge and skill.
Over the course of time, Octavia developed into a resilient and self-reliant individual, mirroring the qualities of her father.
She frequently visited him, engaging in lengthy discussions about different strategies and techniques. Octavia had inherited her father's affinity for isolation, although she also possessed a kind nature and an unwavering resolve to safeguard her family's heritage.

At 9:45 AM, the dilapidated walls of the house witnessed the long-awaited reunion of Mr. Snodgers and Octavia. As he walked toward the front entrance, Mr. Snodgers's heavy, elderly frame carried him forward in time.
He had been a hermit for an extended period, although within, he had always yearned for the companionship of his daughter. However, Octavia had also been acquainted with another formidable individual in her life - her father, Ramsey.
She had become separated from him many years ago, and the entire world had grieved over his passing. Presently, she found herself standing on the threshold of her elderly biological father's residence, uncertain of what to anticipate.
But before Octavia could knock, Mr. Snodgers's devoted butler of years, would welcome her and let her pass through to the foyer. Upon entering, her gaze intersected with her father's, and momentarily, they both remained motionless, absorbing each other's existence. Octavia approached Mr. Snodgers with elegance and embraced him warmly. Octavia's firm grasp perplexed the hermit, a characteristic she had acquired from her mother.
However, Mr. Snodgers refrained from physically interacting with his daughter due to his apprehension of catching sight of her mother nearby. He hoped that this monthly reunion would be free of any bitter memories of their troubled relationship, as the recollection of it still tormented him.
Octavia wore a long white coat, a stylish white blouse, black knee boots, and skin-toned green slacks that morning. The clothing she wore made Mr. Snodgers laugh, even though he respected her. She looked exactly like her daughter: short and youthful, with an athletic physique and a small waist.
Her head appeared disproportionately large compared to her body, prompting Mr. Snodgers to suppress a concealed chuckle while observing her collection of superhuman attire. Octavia observed his delight and furrowed her brow, pivoting to confront him with a mischievous look.
Conversely, Mr. Snodgers was attired in a lengthy, ebony overcoat, ebony boots, a gleaming ivory Oxford shirt, and ebony trousers.
Despite his elderly age, he still possessed a robust physique, which served as evidence of his extensive time spent in the woods. Octavia couldn't help but smile, acknowledging that her father's strength remained unwavering. As they sat down for a cup of tea, Octavia and Mr. Snodgers proceeded to catch up on lost time.
Octavia's daughter and two grandkids met Mr. Snodgers, despite the hermit's strange personality. Mr. Snodgers told Octavia that if she could endure his domineering demeanor for a year, he would willingly educate her grandsons on the ancient world and their forebears.
Octavia knew that her father would not hesitate to subject the two boys to terrifying stories and human thinking manipulation. She permitted the boys to visit Mr. Snodgers on just four to five occasions annually.
Their expedition to the castle would be lengthy and replete with excitement. They only allowed specific military officials to take the kids to see their great-grandfather. For most of the years, Octavia's daughter would avoid the castle.
She held a belief in the supernatural, but subsequent generations deemed her grandfather peculiar. Octavia would assess her daughter's non-existent connection with Mr. Snodgers.
Upon returning home following their encounter with the hermit, Octavia's grandchildren regaled her with extraordinary accounts of apparitions, hobgoblins, vampires, and infernal beings.
Octavia occupied a seat in the entrance hall of her father's residence, endeavoring to concentrate on the objective of her visit. Her mind kept wandering to the potential of never seeing Mr. Snodgers again, but she pushed it away and focused on the present situation.
They both sat at a tiny table, leisurely consuming steaming tea and delectable muffins. Mr. Snodgers, with his imposing physique and formidable strength, consumed his food with primal intensity, prompting Octavia to avert her sight and only make eye contact when addressed.
My great-grandsons are paying me a visit shortly, so you're stopping over today?
Mr. Snodgers inquired, his voice exuding a strong sense of authority.
Placing her teacup on the table and crossing her powerful legs, Octavia remained respectfully resolved.
Affirmative, Father. Their mother has given them permission to visit soon. Before she takes them to the beach, she wants to make sure they don't have any superstitions.
The enormous guy squirmed in his chair, attempting to be civilized before his daughter, who was very prim and businesslike. He swiftly regained his self-control and gently elevated his deep voice.
My guess is that you've come to visit your aging father. We can talk later about your grandchildren. Today, I have something of great significance to share with you. It is an established fact that surfaced many years ago. None of you will ever know the struggle our ancestors endured for decades just to maintain our surname.
Octavia gave Mr. Snodgers a weird look before closing her eyes briefly. Prior to this, she had been previously acquainted with her father's extensive, concocted narratives on enigmatic aspects of their family history. She reclined in her seat, waiting for his recollection to begin.
Your father, Ramsey, as you know, is also a legend. Despite our long-standing acquaintance, we made the deliberate choice to forgo parenthood due to the harshness and inhumanity of the world. However, one day, Ramsey approached me with a proposal. He was aware of a method to guarantee the perpetuation of our family lineage, even in the event of our demise.
Octavia's eyebrows arched in fascination at this revelation. She was completely unaware of any such technique.
Ramsey told me about a secret ritual our family has been practicing for generations. It required a powerful spell and a sacrifice, but the outcome was worthwhile. Even in our absence, our familial lineage would persist.
Octavia's thoughts were filled with a flurry of inquiries. She arched her eyebrow in awe of this revelation. She was unfamiliar with any such technique.
And did you participate in this ceremony, Father?
Mr. Snodgers emitted a profound exhalation.
No, my dear. I was excessively afraid. Fearful of the repercussions, fearful of the unfamiliar. I declined his proposal.
Octavia remained in a state of shocked silence, attempting to comprehend and assimilate the given information. She had long been aware of the enigmatic nature of her family, although she never anticipated it to be this kind.
Father, how does this relate to me?
she inquired, finally breaking the hush.
I suspect that your stepfather, Ramsey, has completed the ceremony. He consistently has a distinct potency and an ethereal ambiance. I have evidence to suggest that he may have a familial connection with you.
Octavia's mind was in a state of intense confusion or disarray. She had
