Note to the Reader:

A saga is defined as a long story of heroic achievement, especially a medieval prose narrative often found in Old Norse or Old Icelandic. It’s a form of the novel in which the members of a social group chronicle a long story detailing a dramatic history.

Compartmentalized in several miniseries for easier reading, the Draoithe Saga tells the story of the founding of an immortal kingdom in the Leaindeail to combat those responsible for unbalancing the magic of the dream. It’s told through the eyes of those connected with its creation and the readers see the story through tales of couples who find hope through their connection to Draoithe.

The central time frame is the year 2016, although pertinent information from the past reveals itself as the characters understand it. The central place is an eerily familiar yet magical realist, Tyler, Texas. As the tale draws out, other kingdoms set in other locations interact with the Druid pack to bring about the end of Peter Elliot and restore the balance of magic, so those tales, too, became a part of the Draoithe Saga as well. Cameo appearances of characters from other tales are common. Overlapping scenes from the events often relates alternate perspectives as the story unfolds.

Resurrected to be a Lord of Dragons along with six grey dragons, he and his brothers follow an ancient prophecy and come to Draoithe in search of their mate riders, the Valkyries, hoping they will finally be free dragons when they discover Luke is the foretold Dire Wolf King.

Taking the first warehouse had been easy. The dragons fell into old routines.

Andrei, Javier, and Kallik had waited for the dragons to enter the warehouse from the back and then took out the guards on the doors.

Javier and Kallik had both resorted to hand-to-hand street fighting. Still, their opponents had dropped.

Once inside, the dragons had taken six more men by the time Luke arrived. Andrei, Kallik, and Javier pushed the three on the doors to the middle of the warehouse with the seven that the dragons had taken. Some were immortal.

Luke checked on the bear. He breathed shallowly, but his back-left paw looked twisted. There was a shock collar around his neck, chaining him to the floor, and someone had beaten him severely.

Covered in cuts and lacerations, blood matted his fur. He was unconscious. He wasn’t leaving under his power, and he was almost as big as Kallik.

Luke met Ash’s eye and nodded. Ash grinned a pointed tooth grin. Smoke leaked from his nostrils. It was the first time in centuries when he felt right about being the Lord of Dragons.

Ash turned to the ten men to pass judgment and sentence criminals according to the old law. Eli Miller had granted the dragons’ power.
