    Introduction

Lexi-May is six years old, everything in her world is wondrous.

Something strange happens when she visits her Nana and Grandad's house.

In the front room is a fish tank. When Lexi-May looks into it her mind starts to wander.

In the fish tank are ornaments and a glass vase that is on its side.

Her mind imagines the ornaments coming alive. She sends them through the vase which she imagines to be a portal to somewhere else.

Once through the vase her mind turns the ornaments into the strangest family in the world that she has named: The Tablecloth Family. Fantastic fun adventures begin for this family.

    Ornaments in the fish tank

    Fish: Grandad Tablecloth

    Swan: Nana Tablecloth

    Turtle: Lord Chevron Tablecloth

    Cat: Lady Chevaze Tablecloth

    Hedgehog: Rena Tablecloth

    Octopus: Remi Tablecloth

    Mouse: Mel Tablecloth

When Lexi-Mays mind needs an expert she always calls upon a character named Little Fred. Little Fred is part human. Lexi-May had heard people say that clever people have got their heads screwed on. She imagined him having a screw for a head it seemed logical to her.

    This book is dedicated to:

What are we going to do today? asked the Tablecloth family. It was always Lexi-May's mind that decided what they were going to do.

Let me think. said her mind. Unbelievably her mind was able to talk.

I know, you can have a day at Windsor Parcel and meet a Queen.

Don’t you mean Windsor Castle? said Nana.

No! said Lexi-Mays mind You’re going to Windsor Parcel. It’s different and you’re going to meet a Queen.

Queen? said Grandad The Queen won’t see us. She only sees very important people. How do you know that she’ll see us?

I just do, and you’re going to be knighted.

    What’s that? asked Rena.

"Well; it’s when a Queen gives you an award, after you’re knighted you can call yourself Sir.

"I don’t want to be called Sir," said Nana.

Lady Chevaze, Rena, and Mel all agreed that they didn’t want to be called that either.

"I don’t mind being called Sir," said Grandad.

Lord Chevron and Remi agreed with Grandad.

"But can’t I call myself Sir already?" said Lord

    Chevron.

"No! It’s not the same kind of Sir. When you’re knighted by a King or Queen it becomes special. I think that you have to be hit on both shoulders with a sword first though."

No! said Grandad You can count me out, I’m not going to be hit on my shoulders with a big sword. That sounds violent. Who would want to do that?

It’s not violent, said Lexi-Mays mind. It’s an honour and it’s only a gentle tap. It won’t hurt you.

    "Yeah but what happens
