What happens when the lights go out

Penelope is waiting at school, for it to be OVER! The teacher says, And, the water cycle has been modified by humans by a fair bit, for instance, water treatment plants for sewerage water and taps. The bell rings for lunch, and everyone leaves. The teacher asks, Penelope, can you please stay behind for a moment? You see Penelope is unique among her pupils as she is supernatural... But even though her teacher is not supernatural, she doesn't even realise it but she has an evolutionary suspicion for supernatural beings. Humans like her are becoming more and more common the more time passes, it's an adaption to the supernatural world that helps humans survive... But it is very annoying for chaos Pixies like Penelope. She explains, I don't know what it is about you Penelope but... anyway that's beside the point, your grades are starting to slip. I need you to pick them back up. Penelope queries genuinely but Miss Norburn, I don't understand why grades are important? She orders, in a fury she doesn't understand Grades are important. Do you want to get a good university education, do you want to get into a good job in the future? Lexie explains But I want to get into YouTube. Miss NorBurn scowls YouTube is not a viable career! Get out. Penelope walks out and meets Lexie in the hallway... Lexie asks Did Miss Norburn, the genetically supernaturally suspicious teacher, go ballistic on you for reasons she doesn't understand? Lexie sighs in frustration Yes... She's such a pizza face.

Later on, the girls go to lunch.

During lunch break, they meet up with the classic kids on the cold stone floor of their primary school lunch area. James responds, My stupid dad is taking me on a monster-hunting expedition this afternoon. Sounds like fun, says another girl sitting next to Lexie and Penelope. Oh, my older sister is going to a movie with her boyfriend, she expresses boyfriend tauntingly. Lexie explains All I get to do is sleep... I definitely don’t get to do anything fun, right Penelope? James sighs I do love my dad, but his obsession with monsters is... embarrassing. Another older boy butts in and says Did you hear about the party at the museum tonight? For the rich and famous of the city. Ignoring him, Penelope responds Did anyone see what happened on pup squad last night? One of the girls yells, I DID.

Later that afternoon the kids are going home from school. Luke walks up to Penelope and Lexie and asks with a sarcastic smile "Lexie, did you sneak to school
