WELCOME
Welcome to an expository study on the Book of Ruth, as we endeavour to study the word of God with a Christ-centric focus. The aim of any Bible study is to reveal the true nature and character of God as we adopt these to conform ourselves to the image of Christ with the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. True knowledge of God leads to knowledge of oneself. It is crucial to keep the focus on God, to seek Him earnestly as in Jeremiah 29:13, You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all of your heart.
The Bible is God’s intention to make Himself known to humanity as we seek to understand, obey and glorify Him. As we peruse through the contours of each chapter of the Book of Ruth may our focus remain on identifying the sovereign hand of God and His providential grace as He redeems and reconciles His creation to Himself. The focus of the study is to understand God’s revelation in scripture and ultimately to reveal it to our context for essential biblical principles for life.
Before we delve into this awe-inspiring book, let’s observe a few presuppositions; the Bible is the divinely inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God aimed at teaching and equipping us for every good work. We serve a triune God who is the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, fully God, fully man and the Holy Spirit who is too, a distinct and divine person. We need to truly know the God we love, so often we are wrapped in the emotion of pursuing God that we forget the words of Jesus, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.
(Matthew 22:37)
This study takes to heart the renewing of one’s mind through studious meditation on
