    Here’s as moral a little fable as ever I heard— all about a man called Joe Wightman, a builder by trade, who, having indulged in a wild and reckless youth, eventually found and married a good woman, built himself a house, and settled down to family life. So far so edifying; and no sooner were they moved in than Mrs Wightman was ready to give birth to their first child, so with no more difficulties than are common she presented her husband with a healthy baby daughter, who they christened Jessica.
