    Strange pills from a strange doctor

    When Meggy stepped out of bed in the morning, the whole room spun before her eyes. She almost lost her balance. She sat on the edge of the bed and blinked, but it didn't help.

    Everything was upside down. The ceiling had become the floor and the floor the ceiling. Her chair, her wardrobe, the horse posters, and all her other things, she saw everything upside down.

    Maybe she was still in the middle of a bad dream. Meggy crawled back under her duvet and squeezed her eyes shut. But it didn't feel like she was dreaming, and she couldn't sleep anymore. When she threw off the duvet a little later, everything was exactly the same, still completely wrong.

    With her eyes closed, Meggy got out of bed and shuffled to the stairs. Only when she had a firm grip on the railing did she dare to look again. But... here too, the world seemed to be upside down. Step by step and stair by stair, she continued.

    Mom, she called, please come quickly.

    Mom came immediately from the kitchen to her. She saw how wobbly Meggy stood on her legs and put an arm around her shoulder. When they sat together at the breakfast table, she listened calmly to Meggy's story.

    Oh dear, said mom. That sounds serious. I'll call the doctor right away and also Miss Els.

    Mom, said Meggy. Could you also call Robby? We were supposed to give a presentation together this morning about the Middle Ages.
