It’s strange how one moment can change the rest of your life.
For me, it was lying on the floor, looking up at the worried faces of my family.
In that moment, I somehow knew that things would never be the same.
Growing up, I’d always been an over-achiever.
I was that kid who always got straight A’s, asked for extra homework, and did all that while practising ballet, tap and jazz dance lessons.
By May 2010, at 17 years old, I had my whole life planned out – I was going to go to Lancaster University to study English literature, then take a year out to go travelling around the world.
