Everybody Has a Book Except You - Suzanne Doyle-Ingram
Chapter One
Everybody Has a Book… Except You
I know, I know, that’s a cheeky title for a book, but doesn’t it seem like everyone has a book these days except you? It’s because people are finally starting to realize that becoming a best-selling author of a nonfiction book is the best way to get credibility, visibility, and authority in your industry. Once you have a book, you can build a seven-figure business around it because you can build a loyal following who will want to buy everything you offer.
Everywhere I go, whether grocery stores, parties, airports, conferences, beaches, you-name-it... whenever I tell people that I own a publishing company, someone inevitably tells me that they’ve always wanted to write a book.
It never fails. I could be standing in line at the airport or at the post office. I could be at a neighborhood barbecue or my kids’ school event. I could be at the doctor’s office or taking scuba diving lessons.
It happens everywhere.
Everyone says they want a book, but here’s the catch: Very few people ever write one.
I have been pondering this for a long time, and after helping more than a thousand people write books and get published, I finally figured it out.

Hi, I’m Suzanne, and I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m a busy, solo-parenting mom of three kids who loves to travel, eat gourmet food, and drink gorgeous wines from around the world.
I’ve been guiding coaches, consultants, and entrepreneurs to write client-attracting books for over 13 years, and I LOVE what I do.
If you go to Google and type in my name, Suzanne Doyle-Ingram, you’ll find 2 million results! (Last time I checked.)
I’m not telling you this to brag. I want you to know that I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I can tell you that I’m the real deal.
What stops people from writing that book they so desperately want to have?
I’ve heard all sorts of reasons...
I don’t know where to start.
I don’t have time.
I don’t have enough to say.
I’m not smart enough.
I keep putting it off.
I’m too busy building my business.
I don’t want to look stupid.
I don’t want my competitors to know what I’m doing.
I feel like an imposter.
I’m not ready.
I have heard every excuse in the book. And, believe me, I understand. I know you’re busy, but I also know this is not the reason you don’t have a book.
I finally figured out the REAL reason why people who say they want a book don’t ever actually finish it. Do you want to know what it is?
The real reason is that they overcomplicate it and get in their own way.
You only need 4 things to write a
