    Chapter 1

    Analysing the relevance of Mahabharata

Writing, in a single essay , the relevance of Mahabharata in modern Indian society is like gathering the sea water in our palm . Because the Mahabharata is not just an epic , not just a poem , not just a story , not just about mutual desires , aspirations and conflicts , not from grand ambitions .  Bleeding at birth . This story is about the knowledge that originates from the womb of desire , this story is about learning the meaning of life , learning about the religion of humanity , learning about rising from the lotus and becoming a lotus . There are ways beyond that which are about philosophy of life, about people, about war  It even points to the direction or possibility of various scientific discoveries which are still relevant today . Mahabharata is the head of Indian culture and literature and the heritage of India . Mahabharata is not about good and bad , it is about people , their personal complexities , their thoughts which is an ocean ,  The more we explore it , the more we are able to know about it .  We all can learn from Mahabharata. Even after hundreds of years , Mahabharata still teaches us many lifesaving lessons .

The epic narrative of Mahabharata was written some ages ago . But this legendary story continues to haunt us even today . It is not only because of its poetic splendor that the epic is still revered . Its story is equally relevant even today . The deep philosophical ideas that perpetuate throughout the epic  , there are many lessons to be learned from him which reminds us of the Art of Living or simple techniques of survival . Not only Indians , but still the history of human civilization is hidden , which is amazing to increase human knowledge in the fields of knowledge , science , astronomy , religion etc. can  So , there are many important lessons that we can learn from Mahabharata be it events or stories .How does the manifestation of knowledge occur ? Desire , hope , expectation , desire are all the driving force of human society . If someone asks you who you are, but what will be your answer ? You will then realize that your will is the interpretation of your life . The success of getting something or the futility of getting something is your identity . Most people live this way . It starts to end from within itself but cannot kill its own desires . He started running like a hunter intoxicated by a deer . But again from the womb of desires also comes the manifestation of knowledge . what do when the desire remains unfulfilled , the hope is broken , then from there the ray of knowledge enters the human heart .

The theme of the Mahabharata is to explain the law of action or consequence . An ideal political leader needs to be not only wise and competent but also able to judge the moral direction of others and decide on a fine but illusory line between right and wrong . The epic Mahabharata shows that on the eve of war  Both Kauravas and Pandavas claim that they are fighting for justice . Before the battle of Kurukshetra Krishna claimed he was fighting for justice , hence helping the Pandavas . But was the claim really reasonable ? In the battle of Kurukshetra , was justice always maintained ? Drona's Nidhan , Bhishma Sarashya all accepted ? Was it right to kill the helpless Karna because the chariot wheel sat on the ground ? Did n't Bhima violate justice by hitting him below the waist at the time of Duryodhana 's rebellion ? Duryodhana plots to weaken Arjuna by using Barangana Madhavi Was it fair ? In the battle of Kurukshetra both the Pandavas and Kauravas gave a thumbs up to justice . Dharma in Buddhism means  ' cosmic law and order  ', and is also applied to the Buddha's teachings . Why is religion important ? In Indian religion , religion is an important reform . Its meaning in Hinduism  ' Duty ', ' Virtue ', ' Morality ', which helps to keep the society and universe peaceful and intact . Mahabharata teaches us what action is and what action is good and what action is bad . And this teaches that one should always follow the path of religion . Any relation like , father  son ,Guru  disciple , brother  sister , religion is above all and always what is right should be done .

Bearers of discrimination are actually sinners , protestors of injustice are righteous. Tolerating injustice is not religion ; Religion is protest against injustice . But not all protestors always win . Defendant may win ; Can lose again . But there is no destruction of the protesting society ; Actually there is no decay  He has no decay . Protest is a great affirmation of survival in the world . In a society that has this conviction , no one can stop the progress of that society ; No one can do it even with a hundred attempts . A protesting society moves forward by resisting injustice . Gautama Buddha was also a protester . He protested  Against indiscriminate animal sacrifice and bloodshed in religious ceremonies , caste priesthood and caste discrimination . He was in favor of establishing equality and harmony in the society . He never compromised with lies and deceit . Revealing the truth was his religion. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Guru Nanak were also protestors . They are always religious He was trying to restore public character . Swami Vivekananda was influenced by Buddhist philosophy , he advocated conversion and adoption . Many protest leaders and gurus did not succeed ; Therefore , there is no room to underestimate their contribution . Protesting injustice is like religion ; Reveal the truth So is religion. Suppressing the truth and harboring discrimination in the heart is not a religion . Caste casteism who maintain and maintain it in the name of religion , are ungodly and sinful. It is for the sake of society that they should leave their company .

If we want to gain comprehensive knowledge on many subjects by reading only one book then it must be Mahabharata . The author of this epic himself said in this book , Everything that is in this world is in this book , and what is not yet in this world can be found here . There are many more stories within a story here . Every story is a source of knowledge and SIP or management of new learning in different areas of human life . Every character of Mahabharata teaches us something . A family for a plot of land  Whether it's a fight between or the issue of an ' illegitimate ' child , its impact on a family and society is beautifully captured in this epic epic . Unfortunately even today the Indian society has failed miserably to understand the pearls of wisdom that this great epic gives to life . say for example  It is said that the disagreement between the brothers of the same family based on Indraprastha or a fight over a few pieces of land eventually progressed to a great war and brought about the ultimate destruction of the clan . But unfortunately we as a society are yet to understand the true value of a compromise . That is why our own petty ego and greed come in the way of our reasoning and as a result we are not willing to compromise to get the right solution .

Another aspect that is mentioned in this epic , and which is relevant in present day Indian society , is the issue of ' illegitimate ' children , which is brought up in the epic through the character of Karna . A perfect example in the Mahabharata is the respect and love between the student Arjuna and his teacher Dronacharya And mutual sincerity . Arjuna had such love for his teacher that he refused to kill Dronacharya even though he was with the Kauravas during the war . It is the misfortune of today's generation that a teacher is only doing his job as a professional and nothing more . For this unfortunate situation  Education today is equally responsible and this noble profession today is only a means of earning money and imparting right knowledge and values education to the students is now secondary here . What is surprising in this epic is what and how much the real political leadership should do to run a country . The most important lesson from the Mahabharata comes in the Bhagavad Gita , in which Lord Krishna expounds his great wisdom on philosophy of life , in which he says , Do your duty first and forget about your reward , but  Unfortunately the present day Indian society only thinks about getting rewards first and then performing duties accordingly which is a real shame and detrimental to a healthy society . The most important theme in Mahabharata is religion . In fact , the writer Vyasa himself says that Mahabharata is about the mind of man  Engrave religion in . Religion is basically the name of following good principles , correct moral approach . But what is the truth , have we ever considered ?  When a piece of information is told despite fear , it is called truth . In reality ,  there is nothing but fearlessness  In other words , there is no time to be fearless , because fearlessness is the nature of the soul itself . That is, every moment of life is the moment to tell the truth . It is surprising that people do not pay attention to the practice of religion , although everything can be achieved through it . So Mahabharata is for humanity , only Indians or  Not for Hindus , whoever reads it gains a wealth of practical knowledge that leads him to success , happiness and prosperity .

Everyone thinks about religion. Some about their own religion , some about other people's religion . There is no one who does not think about religion . But in reality , what is religion , can anyone really understand it ? Religion gives people the knowledge to live in harmony with other people , with all creation . that Because people always get peace by going to any religious place . That is not your experience !? That is, religion destroys all human conflicts . But how is this possible ?! There will be no conflict with anyone else ! Consider ! Where there is love , there is conflict What is not there ?! You say yes of course . But if you think a little more , you will understand that the moment there is a conflict , the moment all love is surprised . And then desire arises , pride arises , anger arises but love ! No love does not wake up ! Cause where love is Awake there all strife , all strife , all grumbling vanishes . If such love wakes up for the whole world ! If there is affection in the heart for every grain of grass , not only for humans , but for animals and birds , what reason is there for anger ? There is no ! The love that one person has in his heart for another person is called Karuna if the love is for all creation . Mercy ! That is to accept the whole world . Only love for everything , nothing else ! No depravity for anyone anywhere . It's done In fact the essence of all religions . If religion is a tree , then mercy is its root , its roots ! But again and again such a situation occurs , when people forget this root of religion , hold some rules , some traditions from the beginning , and mercy ! Mercy is forgotten . And This world is filled with conflict , jealousy , exploitation , adultery and immorality . And only then the great men appeared in the form of avatars , for the protection of the saints , to establish the religion again and again !

It may be thought that , although the fourvarna system is not so strict in present day Hindu society , it was prevalent at the time of Mahabharata or Gita . This classification was done according to Sattva , Rajo and Tamo qualities . Therefore, the special characteristics of the four colors of human nature are noteworthy . Although a class characteristic It cannot be said that the characteristic cannot exist in other characters . So caste religion never follows the rules of heredity . Rather, the effect of previous birth karma works more . So it can be seen that even if one is born in a Brahmin house , that person does not have the qualities of a Brahmin mentioned in the Gita .  Again, even if born in a Vaishya or Shudra family , the Brahmin character traits are especially visible in many honest people . The philosophy of the Gita is that if every person acts according to his proper nature , obeying the rules of Swadharma , then the good energy will manifest in the heart of the person . The social system is orderly  There will be welfare of the individual , family , society and the
