    Blood Kin - E.G.F

    1

    The world

    .

Night fell. By making use of a sayers cloak, I proactively began setting up the camp. Feeling tired, I casually dumped my gear down on the ground and started a warm and comforting fire. I pull my cooking pot, resorting to cheating by utilising my light index to pull water from the air. After adding the soup block, I set the pot on the stove and started boiling it to break it down. I zapped Kane awake. You bitch. He groaned.

What? I can’t hear you. I screamed at him.

You can read lips. he got up

How are you feeling? I laughed.k

My powers are drained. I feel so weak. Did I clear the field?

You killed them all. We need to make a way back home. I need my hearing so we can move.

I got into my sleeping bag. He got up and seat his cooking gear. We ate, then got to sleep. He wrapped his arms around me. You stink. I groaned with a smiled.

So do you. He cuddled in.

Morning rolled in and we packed up. Kane tried using the index healing on my ears. 1, 2, 3......9. he counted.

I can hear you... still annoying. I mocked him.

He smiled, and we got our gear back on and started moving back to the rainbow city. When the day ended, we had reached the city. We walked into the gondola looking like we had been through some stuff. Where have you two been? Red 12 and blue 52 yellow 326 asked.

We took the dragon relic recovery. Kane sound so happy.

Did you succeed 12? That mission has been ongoing for a very long time. Yellow was twigged.

What can I say? We make a good team.

We hopped off the gondola and We headed to the castle gates were the top ranks control around the royals and castle protection.

As the giant gates slowly raise, they unveil a breathtaking and meticulously maintained garden. It was like a rainbow itself. Bees buzzed around the surrounding area, which was filled with vibrant and colourful birds. This was my first time coming inside these inner gates we got led through to the underground’s rooms. We stood outside their meeting rooms. After removing my pack, I reached inside to retrieve the relic. I don’t know if this was worth the chances of breaking war out.

I picked up the dragon relic. I hand it to Kane. What is this for?

    It’s a spawn point.

    What are they summoning?

They had us on this mission with the reward that we could be together more if we completed it. We would gain a nobility class so we didn’t have to sneak around and we could retire early in the city together, live like normal people. We wanted to have our own kids and just be a normal family.

We stood outside waiting. We both would have looked like tired crap. Come in, the king spook.

We pulled our mask down and went in. We walked in. The king was the only one unmasked; in the group of masked colours and elders, the king was the only one allowed to show his face; we the colours were just replaceable tools. Well, what is it? he snapped at us.

I keep kneeled as Kane showed him the statue. We have this, Kane gestured

Kane had the statue. He unwrapped the item, and the king lit up with pure excitement, You stole this from the fang kingdom. he sounded impressed,

looking at it in the light to make sure it had the seals in it intact.

    Yes, my lord. kane spook.

Red 12. Did the blue healer help you?

    Yes, she did. Blue 54,

I’ll recommend you both, for praise, that is all.

What about the reward? Citizen ship. Kane spoke up.

"Red 12. How many people were killed? I see you used the Skeva, judging by the burns on your armour and the green on your fingers.

It would be in the 100s.

If you read the fine print. But I’ve been looking for an excuse to take out the mercy ridge. My great grandfather gave it away because they kidnapped my father, threatened his life. He was over fighting. But I want it back to get that great resource in that mountain. You two can leave.

We couldn’t say anything our heads where watching. I could feel mine staring me down. I know that the mission was out of my level, so we left the castle disappointed.

I went to my room, taking everything off change down into my normal city wear. In the city. We must remain unarmed and no armour. I took my bag off and went to the medic. I sat on the table to get a physical check over, blue one came in. She took off her mask. What were you thinking, Kenna? she yelled at me.

It was on the board. r12 needed a healer, so went.

You could have died. Healers are hard to get these days. The 2000 in the unit is nothing compared to the 100,000s in the red. They are disposable, you are not. I don’t want to see you around him. You're young and talented, your only been out of the maggot’s nest for 2 years. Don’t mess it up.

    I’m sorry.

We don’t get to love like other people. We are here to sever king Vulcan and follow his will. That is it, we are not like the people in the rainbow city. We don’t get to love and have children. We are not the pure. I know why you took it, you took it because you love him and want to spend time with R12, she teased

I’m not answering it. Can you heal my ears? This ringing driving me mental.

She lit up her index and place her hands on my ears. Her energy pulsed through them and I felt the healing tingle as she fixed my ears.

I walked out of the base. I went and sat by the fence. Kane came and sat on the other side. I had the lecture, he groaned, sitting down on the other side.

Same, we can’t keep doing this. We are merely instruments used for protection. It’s what I got told.

Kane slipped his hand through. We have the option to leave, he suggested.

You know the green will relentlessly pursue us and ultimately met with execution by the dark unit. Leaving isn’t a choice.

It's good to let your mind wander. Perhaps I could consider transferring units.

They wouldn't let someone of your high rank just walk away. I'm sorry, but transferring is not possible in my situation.

There is still the opportunity for us to head to the city and enjoy a night of drinking. Regardless, I do owe you.

    I would love that.

He perked up. I have recently learned that the king has a son who is around 20 years old, and people believe that his association with the shadow lands is compelling the king to start a war.

    O’goodie.

I’m sure he’s not that bad of a person. I will be put on his guard when he’s on the front lines. They want to move me to the dark unit. Kenna. Do you think we could still stay together that way? he asked.

His voice carried an undeniable sense of innocence, which I could feel as he clung to my hand. I love you Kane of the sand. I smiled.

I love you Kenna of iron. he kissed my hand.

I activated my index and reached out healed the burns on his chest. I’ll meet you at rainbow city bar at 9 tonight, okay? We can talk there and pretend we are normal citizens. I smiled at him and he jumped up and waved me off with a smile.

I found it fascinating to discover that the kings had a secret son for the last two decades. I am curious to know if he would bring about any kind of change. It is unlikely that they will be open to making any changes since they believe that what they have is already working.

Every morning, I wake up to the sound of my alarm and begin my workday preparations, spending a couple of hours on this daily routine. With courage, I ventured deep into the dark and foul-smelling caves in order to impart my knowledge of healing to the new maggots. I'm wondering if they will give off that same lifeless vibe as the previous year's crowd.

I arrived at the bar well ahead of time. Forgetting the extent to which that darkness affected me, I failed to recall the tremendous stress that accompanied my descent into that nightmarish place. It's the reason I lie awake, staring at the ceiling in the darkness. I used my hand to brush away the tears that were streaming down my face. It was even more terrible than I recall. Those poor kids.

As I sat there lost in thought, staring into my drink, Kane reached out and placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. My reaction was far from kind. Don’t touch me. I screamed.

In a swift motion, I spun around and forcefully smashed a bottle over his head. His expression was one of utter confusion as he held his head, blood slowly dripping down. I’m so sorry. I cried.

His hug was gentle yet comforting. He understood stood the mark of the maggot’s nest, We all had the scars, some more than others. Taking immediate action, I grabbed a napkin and carefully positioned it on his head, using the power of light index to help in his healing process. Hey there, don't worry, everything's alright. Can you tell me what's bothering you? Please don’t cry. He spook so kindly.

As we sat outside, we could feel the coolness of the evening air against our skin while we savoured our drinks in silence. Today, I went to the maggot nest, and it brought back some old memories. I spook up.

He put a kind hand on my shoulder, O’ I see. I don’t know what the nest was like for you.

Unfortunately, my sister, who was in the nest, tragically took her own life. I know girls had a more gruelling experience. They relentless tortured us all. However, there were individuals who took advantage of the girls' vulnerability. Were you one of those girls?

The monster in the dark that came into my cell. They would use their light index to pull some stone from the wall to pin me down to the bed. I cried.

It's unfortunate that happened to you. You know I'd never do something like that to you, Kenna. I'll be here, waiting for your love, he hugged me tight.

Kane, I feel safe and trust you with all my heart. I do not know how long it'll take me to get over this.

    Your worth the wait.

I smooched him on the cheek. He greeted me with a warm smile and affectionately touched my head. After indulging in a few more drinks and food, I grew increasingly irritated by his comments about healers being unable to fight. I ejected him forcefully from his stall, causing him to be propelled onto the street, and then I taunted him aggressively, fight me, come on! I slurred

Nah, I’m good little rabbit. he smiled, knowing I hate that nickname.

A crowd of regular people gather around cheering us on. Fight fight fight!

With a swift movement of my arm, I activate the light index. Using all my strength, I extract the metal from the stool and tightly encase my fist with it and I’ll ready to fight.

Hey that’s cheating. Kane laughed, knowing he couldn’t use anything like that.

No, this is an ion storm.

With a surge of electricity, I charged the metal and as I clashed them together; I ignited a magnificent storm of sparks.

As I clapped my hands together, a surge of electricity flowed through my fingers, creating a bolt of lightning that I aimed towards him. In that moment, I couldn't help but feel like he
