    Chapter 1

I thought this ritual was supposed to get you clean? Randolph the bear asked, as he sat on the edge of the bath watching Will splashing around with his toy boats in the bath.

This is the last chance for the heroic HMS Swordfish as she sails through the treacherous minefield, Will said. Boom! He punched his fist into the surface of the water, threatening to capsize the toy battleship floating amidst the bubbles and sending soapy water spraying in all directions.

And yet it seems the main objective of the exercise is to move the water from inside the bath and evenly distribute it around the rest of the bathroom, Randolph said, wiping soap bubbles from his nose.

Well, I’m not just going to sit here washing myself, Will replied, that’s what grownups do. There was a sudden rush of bubbles from somewhere under the water.

What was that? Randolph said, putting his paw over his nose.
